SecaCam Raptor

Tom Bogaert

Series of nighttime photos taken with a “SecaCam Raptor” camera trap in the garden of a villa on the island of Kerkennah in Tunisia.

A camera trap is a remotely activated camera that is equipped with a motion sensor or an infrared sensor, or uses a light beam as a trigger. Camera trapping is a method for capturing wild animals on film when researchers are not present.

“SecaCom Raptor” was made for Matza and presented at the Bardo National Museum in Tunis, Tunisia in April 2017.

Matza is a contemporary art initiative launched in 2014 by Séverin Guelpa. More info here
